Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa Movie Review
Bhola Movie Review: With his sincere eyes and serious demeanor, Ajay Devgn once again delivers a performance to remember. The actor plays a criminal who is out of jail and on his way to meet his daughter in the action-thriller film Bhola. The tone is set from the very beginning of the film that Bhola is a larger-than-life man who is not to be messed with. He is not only dangerous but can also fight like a warrior. The first half hour of the film serves to set the stage for what is about to happen over the course of two and a half hours. While it is quite clear where the film is going, every frame and every scene is worth watching.
A high-octane action thriller is expected from the very beginning where high-octane action sequences are there to steal the limelight. And this happens throughout the movie! The way other inmates describe Ajay Devgan aka Bhola and his menacing looks, how he fights the drug mafia and kills hundreds of goons like pebbles. Even a ferocious animal like a leopard is afraid to fight with Bhola when he is burnt on his forehead. While the story is predictable, Bhola’s character is not fully defined in the film.
Through a long flashback, we are told why Bhola hasn’t met his 10-year-old daughter yet and doesn’t remember what happened to his wife but who she really is. How did he start his journey? Looks like we’ll have to wait for the sequel to get that part of the story.
Apart from Ajay Devgn, all the other characters, big or small, contribute to craft a world that grows more intriguing with every scene. Ashwatthama played by Deepak Dobriyal deserves a special mention as he gets into the skin of his character of a heartless villain and yet looks charming. He effortlessly transforms from the onscreen image of a comedian to a ruthless bad guy. Tabu’s onscreen presence yet again impresses and her chemistry with Ajay Devgn feels natural. This is the first time he has tried his hand at hard-core action and he single-handedly fights several goons and is successful. Other supporting characters are also executed to perfection and help in understanding the plot more deeply. Side characters not only add meaning to the plot but often bring comic relief amidst bone-breaking brawls, high-speed bike chases and furious gunfire. Bhola Movie Reviews
The interesting thing is that all the incidents in the film have been shown in one night and yet the scenes do not seem dark. Congratulations to Ajay Devgan who not only acted in the film but also directed Bhola. From all the action sequences to the chase sequences, the lighting looks good even in the dark, and is picture-perfect. The cinematography deserves another round of applause for its impeccable quality. The extraordinary background score that compliments the romantic scenes as well as the deep action sequences further enhances the experience.
The only area where Bhola falls short is not paying much attention to the emotional side of the lead character’s relationship with his daughter Jyoti. In the first half, the adorable father-daughter relationship touches the heart, but in the second half it either disappears or is almost forgotten. Eventually, when they meet, it suddenly appears and breaks the mood.
To conclude, Bhola is ready for the masses and perfectly blends high-octane action, thriller and soul in the first half and ends with a surprising climax where a ‘Bollywood actor’ makes a cameo. waits. Used to be. An exciting watch for the weekend! Bhola Movie Reviews
